How to wear multifunctional headwear in the summer
It’s a myth that multifunctional headwear are just for winter or cold weather. The reality is you can wear them all year round.
In this video Art Of Your Success customers demonstrate wearing their multifunctional headwear in the summer.
Who can use multifunctional headwear:
Runners, triathletes, cyclists, walkers, skiers, snowboarders, horse riders, tennis players – almost any sport is suitable.
When can you wear multifunctional headwear:
Many people think multifunctional headwear are just for cold weather, but as they are made from microfibre, you can wear them all year for any activity. The microfibre keeps you warm in the cold, and wicks sweat away from your skin to keep you cool in hot conditions.
Some ways I use them most often are:
- doubled up, round my neck & on my head in the coldest times
- as a headband to keep the sweat off my face when running
- in my pocket/ belt to wear to keep warm after exercise or during a cafe stop
Other uses for multifunctional headwear:
I’ve used multifunctional headwear as a makeshift bag, people use them as wipes when nothing else is available. I’ve know people stuff them into underwear for extra windchill protection. Some runners soak them in water & then cool themselves by putting the neck tube back on their head or round their wrist.
They are so portable that if you keep one on you at all times, you’re bound to find new ways to use it.
How to wear multifunctional headwear in face covering mode
Wearing multifunctional headwear in face covering mode was always handy in very cold weather. But since COVID-19, it’s also very useful to wear as a breathable face covering in summer.
Here are a few tips how to wear yours for short or long periods in this video.
How to care for your multifunctional headwear:
I recommend washing them inside out, ideally on a cool wash like 30 degrees. When they’re not washed inside out, they can become a bit bobbly. I put them in with the rest of my sports kit, with no fabric softener.
How many multifunctional headwear do you need?
I think you can never have too many. You’ll find once people have one, they find them so useful, they have lots!
I always have a couple on the go at any time. If you’d like your own multifunctional headwear here are some of mine available. Do check back on my multifunctional headwear as I add more designs when I can. Here’s a selection below.
