T Shirt Sizing

Size descriptions like ‘Small, Medium & Large’ really vary according to the manufacturer of the T shirt.

So this is why it’s best to measure a T shirt you already have (or one you think is similar size to anyone you’re buying for).

Please use the charts below and note that there can be some variation in manufacture, it isn’t precise to the centimetre/ inch.

T Shirt Size & Measurement Guide

T Shirt Sizing extra things to look out for

The T shirts are unisex, so they can feel a bit longer for some women/ shorter men. The lengths are on the measurement info. I find the bottom of mine tuck up naturally and don’t notice the length at all (I’m 5’5″).

T Shirt Fit

The T shirts are more fitted than loose, but you can of course size up if you prefer a looser fit.

Check out the video below for a view on men and women’s fits. Plus see photos of them out in the ‘wild’, in addition to comments, at customer T shirt photos and reviews.

Why there aren’t women-specific shirts

I get it. I’m a woman, usually size XS, so anything unisex usually doesn’t work for me. But these do like genuinely good on women, and I also have some a size up which are nice to wear for a looser fit too.

I am constantly looking for and trialling women-specific fits. Apart from being much more limited in what’s available, the sizing is very difficult. All seem to come with widely differing views on whether the Ts are small or large according to the size guides. Being made to order, I can’t offer size returns (see below).

So until I can find a good quality women’s T where the large majority of women are happy with its sizing, I will continue to offer the unisex version.

What sizes are available?

Most T shirts are available in Small to 2XL.

Some (not all) are available in XS and 3XL-4XL, but availability varies by colour and production location, which is why they aren’t listed as standard.

If you’d like to double check if you can get a T shirt in one of these sizes that isn’t listed, please send me a message, and I’ll check availability.

What they’re made of, including variations by colour

Heather Colours

The colours with ‘heather’ in the description contain polyester. These ‘heather’ colours have a more subtle colour appearance due to different threads being combined, and are slightly softer than ‘solid’ colours, like classic cotton T shirts.

Most Heather colours are 52% combed and ring-spun cotton, 48% polyester.

But getting super-specific-T-shirt-expert-level, some ‘heather’ colours have a slightly percentage fabric mix:

Athletic Heather and Black Heather
are 90% combed and ring-spun cotton, 10% polyester.

This makes them slightly less soft than the other Heather colours. They are still softer than ‘normal’ cotton T shirts. People may only notice a slight difference if they own a range of these different T shirts in different colours. It is definitely ‘expert level’ rather than very noticeable.

Non-Heather Colours

The non-heather, ‘solid’ colours such as Navy, are more like the feel of a classic cotton T shirt. They are made from 100% combed and ring-spun cotton.

T Shirt Product Care

Machine wash cold, inside-out, gentle cycle with mild detergent and similar colours. Use non-chlorine bleach, only when necessary. No fabric softeners.

Tumble dry low, or hang-dry for longest life.

Cool iron inside-out if necessary. Do not iron decoration.

Do not dry clean.

My tip: I wash at 30 degrees C, inside out, with my sports kit, no fabric softener.

Where are the T shirts made?

I work with companies with locations worldwide, so depending on where you are, your orders are made and sent from the facility that can do it most efficiently.

That is often US or Mainland Europe, but can include Australia, Canada and more. Where it is made will depend on stock levels of the size and colour you’d like, plus the wait list of items to be made.

T shirt eco credentials

T shirts can get a bad press. This is largely due to overproduction and waste. As Art Of Your Success T shirts are all made to order, only what is wanted is produced. This takes a little longer as the exact design, size and colour you select is made especially for you.

The T shirts themselves are created using processes with virtually zero waste, and with low energy and water use. They are printed using water-based eco-friendly ink.

This small and sustainable production can make products more expensive to produce than mass production with associated mass waste, but for good reason. This higher production cost is taken by Art Of Your Success, so that the T shirts can be kept at a fair price.

Can’t return for size changes – why

T shirts are made to order to reduce waste by producing only what is needed. A T shirt size exchange would mean producing an entirely new product. Made to order also means you have a wider choice of designs and colours than if all stock was held.

If your item has unusually got through quality control checks when it is faulty, please contact me with photos within 10 days and I will arrange a replacement or refund.

I cannot accept responsibility for repaying postage and handling charges.
